HISTORY OF THE CHERRY CRUSADE
Since its founding in 2005, the Cherry Crusade has grown into an enthusiastic and passionate student organization comprised of die-hard Temple University Sports fans. Our members support Temple University's athletics teams by promoting games and special events on and around campus. Cherry Crusade members are in the front row of every game, organizing the student section, and leading each and every chant and cheer. We coordinate road trips, paint-ups, viewing parties, and on-campus member meet-ups. The Cherry Crusade bleeds cherry and white. Go Owls!
We are comprised of students from all walks of life. We have future doctors, lawyers, architects, journalists, actors, scientists, and business leaders who are set to change the world. We are a strong and diverse fanbase who seeks to grow the Temple community through our love of sports.

TRADITIONS
Cherry-On Pep Rally
Cherry-On Pep Rallys take place every Friday before a home football game. The Bell Tower Plaza and Beury Beach get turned into the hottest block party in town featuring a stage with live music, games on the lawn, free food, giveaways, and special performances from the Temple University Diamond Marching Band. The Cherry-On Pep Rally is also where students can pick up their football tickets for the game the next day. The pep rally starts at 11:30 am as the Temple University Diamond Marching Band, led by Director Matthew Brunner, plays hit music throughout the day while guest speakers, including coaches, players, and the emcee entertain the crowd. The football team then meets us at the Pep Rally where we send them off for their big game the next day. See you all on Fridays!!
Paint-Ups
For every home football game, the Cherry Crusade gathers together the loudest and proudest fans to paint our bodies for the game ahead. Before the game starts we meet up at the student tailgate and get ourselves painted up. The more we have involved the more we can spell out. This is one of the oldest and most fun traditions the Cherry Crusade partakes in every game.
Roll-Outs
Temple University is part of a legendary club of basketball schools known nationwide as the Big 5. Temple, Saint Joes, Lasalle, UPenn, and Villanova are the Philadelphia basketball programs that make up this historic club. The Big 5 is steeped with tradition and the one we at Temple take pride in the most is the rollouts. For every home game against a Big 5 opponent, we make large banners for every timeout, poking a little fun at the other team. We always end the night with the most important message of all. Although we may all be Philadelphia schools (except Villanova🤭) "This Is Our City!!"
Road Trips
Every year the Cherry Crusade tries to make it to as many away games as we can. We will normally go to any Big 5 away game as well as travel in the city for other sports as well. In the event we get to a Bowl Game or to the March Madness tournament, we try to travel to those games to cheer on our players as well.

CHERRY CRUSADE LEADERSHIP
The Cherry Crusade leadership team consists of a five member Executive Board and three Chair Board members. There are three Chair committees within the leadership team: Projects & Marketing, Chant & Cheer, and Membership. The Cherry Crusade leadership team provides the best possible game day environment for students. In addition, the Cherry Crusade Leadership team manages special events such as watch parties, player meet ups, and tailgate events.
